Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Justification for classification or non-classification

Insufficient data are available for the test substance and its component chemicals. Therefore, no classification for carcinogenicity of the PA6T salt can be made according to EU Directive 67/548/EEC and EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.

Additional information

No carcinogenicity data are available for the PA6T salt [1,4-benzenedioic acid, compound with hexane-1,6-diamine (1:1)]. Cancer data for component chemicals is limited. No relevant data were found for HMDA. Chronic bioassay data for adipic acid shows no increase in tumour incidence in rats. Data for terephthalic acid indicates increases in bladder tumour incidence, but only at high exposure levels. Since terephthalic acid is not genotoxic, tumours are considered to be due to local tissue irritation/inflammation from terephthalic acid calculi. Since there is insufficient data, no classification for carcinogenicity of the PA6T salt can be made.
