Administrative data
First-aid measures
Eyes:
Wash immediately and continuously with flowing water for at least 30 minutes. Remove contact lenses after the first 5 minutes and continue washing. Obtain prompt medical consultation, preferably from an opthamologist.
Skin:
Immediate continued and thorough washing in flowing water for at least 30 minutes is imperative while removing contaminated clothing. Prompt medical consultation is essential. Wash clothing before reuse. Properly dispose of leather items such as shoes, belts, and watchbands. Discard items which cannot be decontaminated, including leather articles such as shoes, belts and watchbands.
Inhalation:
Move person to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration; if by mouth to mouth use rescuer protection (pocket mask, etc). If breathing is difficult, oxygen should be administered by qualified personnel. Call a physician or transport to a medical facility.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agents:
Water fog or fine spray. Carbon dioxide extinguishers. Dry chemical fire extinguishers. Foam. Alcohol resistant foams (ATC type) are preferred. General purpose synthetic foams (including AFF) or protein foams may function, but will be less effective.
Products arising from burning or pyrolysis:
During a fire, smoke may contain the original material in addition to combustion products of varying composition which may be toxic and/or irritating.
Combustion products may include but are not limited to:
nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide.
Thermal decomposition:
Exposure to elevated temperatures may cause product to decompose. Hazardous decomposition products depend upon temperature, air supply and the presence of other materials. Hazardous decomposition products may include and are not limited to carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, and nitrogen. Toxic, flammable gases are released during decomposition.
Protective equipment:
Wear positive-pressure self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) and protective fire fighting clothing (including fire fighting helmet, coat, pants, boots, and gloves).
If contact is likely, change to chemical resistant fire fighting with self-contained breathing apparatus.
Accidental release measures
Contain spilled material if possible. Collect in suitable and properly labeled containers. Evacuate area. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Avoid breathing mist. Only trained and properly protected personnel must be involved in cleanup operations. Keep upwind of spill. Ventilate area of leak or spill. Use appropriate safety equipment. Prevent from entering into soil, ditches, sewers, waterways and or groundwater.
Handling and storage
Handling:
Do not get in eyes, on skin, on clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling. Avoid swallowing. Avoid breathing mist. Use only with adequate ventilation, especially with local exhaust ventilation during drumming and de-drumming. Do not store in open container..
Storage:
Store in a dry place in original unopened container.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Eye/Face:
Use chemical goggles. Eye wash fountain should be located in immediate work area
Skin Protection:
Use protective clothing chemically resistant to this material. Selection of specific items such as face shield, boots, apron, or full body suit will depend on the task. Safety shower should be located in immediate work area. Remove contaminated clothing immediately, wash skin area with soap and water, and launder clothing before re-use or dispose of properly. Items which cannot be decontaminated, such as shoes, boots, belts and watchbands should be removed and disposed of properly. Use gloves chemically resistant to this material.
Ingestion:
Avoid ingestion of even small amounts; do not consume or store food or tobacco in the work area; wash hands and face before smoking or eating.
Respiratory protection:
Respiratory protection should be worn when there is potential to exceed the exposure limit requirements or guidelines. If there are no applicable exposure limit requirements or guidelines, wear respiratory protection when adverse effects, such as respiratory irritation or discomfort have been experienced, or where indicated by your risk assessment process. In misty atmospheres, use an approved particulate respirator.
Engineering Controls (ventilation):
Use engineering controls to maintain airborne level below exposure limit requirements or guidelines. If there are no applicable exposure limit requirements or guidelines, use only with adequate ventilation. Local exhaust ventilation may be necessary for some operations.
Stability and reactivity
Stable under recommended storage conditions
Conditions to avoid:
Exposure to elevated temperatures can cause product to decompose
Avoid leaving exposed to air. Substance absorbes carbon dioxide from the air and may form carbamate salts.
Incompatability with other materials:
Avoid contact with oxidising materials. Avoid contact with metals such as aluminium, zinc, copper, copper alloys, galvanized metals. Avoid contact with strong acids, strong oxidisers. Avoid unintended contact with halogenated hydrocarbons.
Thermal Decomposition:
Hazardous decomposition products depend upon temperature, air supply and the presence of other materials. Hazardous decomposition products may include carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides and nitrogen. Toxic, flammable gasses are released during combustion.
Hazardous polymerization will not occur.
Disposal considerations
This product, when being disposed of in its unused and uncontaminated state should be treated as hazardous waste according to EC Directive 91/689/EEC. Any disposal practices must be in compliance with all national and provincial laws and any municipal or local bye-laws governing hazardous waste. For used, contaminated and residual materials aditional evaluations may be required. Do not deposit into sewers, on the ground or into any body of water.
