Endpoint:
auto-flammability
Type of information:
read-across from supporting substance (structural analogue or surrogate)
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Read-across from an analogue substance for which a guideline study (Klimish =1) is available.
Justification for type of information:
REPORTING FORMAT FOR THE ANALOGUE APPROACH
See cross-reference to justification of read-across.
Reason / purpose:
read-across source
Reason / purpose:
read-across: supporting information
Key result
Auto-ignition temperature:
245 °C
Atm. press.:
99 544 Pa
Remarks on result:
other: Based on the read-across from the analogue substance d-limonene.
Conclusions:
Based on the read-across from the analogue substance d-limonene, the auto ignition temperature of 245 °C is estimated for l-limonene.
Executive summary:

Based on the read-across from the analogue substance d-limonene, the auto ignition temperature of 245 °C is estimated for l-limonene.

Description of key information

Key study: Read-across from the analogue substance d-limonene. Test method A.15. GLP study. Self-ignition temperature at atmospheric pressure : 245 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
245 °C

Additional information

The value for auto-flammability of l-limonene was derived from a well performed study, which was conducted according to EU A.15 guideline and under GLP to determine the self-ignition temperature of d-limonene. The result was considered as reliable without restriction and supported by other data from secondary literature which are in agreement with the key value.
