No data for toxicity to terrestrial organisms are available for the target substance Aluminium silicate and titanium oxide matrix doted with vanadium, nickel, and antimony. Data from the analogue approach source substance Zeolite, cuboidal, crystalline, synthetic, non-fibrous catalysts were applied to cover the endpoint toxicity to terrestrial plants for the target substance. Further data from analogue source substances to cover the other endpoints to terrestrial organisms (soil macroorganisms except arthropods, terrestrial arthropods and soil mircoorganisms) are also not available.

Aluminium silicate and titanium oxide matrix doted with vanadium, nickel and antimony is an inert inorganic test item which is insoluble in water. If released to the environment, the aluminium silicate matrix is expected to combine indistinguishably with the soil. The metals incorporated in the matrix will not be removed in soil moisture and therefore cation exchange can be excluded. This was already described in the study for water solubility and will be further confirmed by the transformation/dissolution test, which is in preparation. However, even if all of the metals incorporated in the matrix of the test item would be removed from the crystall structure, the total amount of the different bioavailable metals would be so low, that this would be not relevant for the classification and labelling of the substance. Due to the inherent chemico-physical properties of the test item, no further testing on toxicity to soil macroorganisms except arthropods, terrestrial arthropods and soil mircoorganisms is required.

With regard to the fact, that the catalytic sites of the Aluminium silicate and titanium oxide matrix doted with vanadium, nickel, and antimony are blocked and inhibited, data can be taken from a study on toxcity to terrestrial plants with a surface modified Zeolite, cuboidal, crystalline, synthetic, non-fibrous, since the not surface modified Zeolite showed effects due to the depletion of essential trace elements in the test system. Therefore, a NOEC of 60000 mg/kg dw determined with the surface modified Zeolite will be applied for Aluminium silicate and titanium oxide matrix doted with vanadium, nickel, and antimony. However, since Zeolite, cuboidal, crystalline, synthetic, non-fibrous seemed to take influence on the distribution of water within the soil, thus exerting rather physical than chemical property of the substance, the NOEC have to be handled with caution.
