Description of key information

The OECD harmonized ring method in accordance with EC A.5 and OECD 115 and in compliance with GLP was performed with a 1 g/L aqueous solution of tetraethylammonium hydroxide that was prepared from a 35% aqueous solution of tetraethylammonium hydroxide. The surface tension at 1 g TEAH/L at 20°C has been determined as 72.5 mN/m. Because the measured value is not < 60 mN/m (criteria in EC A.5 guideline), tetraethylammonium hydroxide is not surface active.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Key value for tetraethylammonium hydroxide: 72.5 mN/m at 20°C at 1000 mg/L

Key value for the registered substance: not applicable
