Description of key information

Non oxidising

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to the REACH Regulation 1907/2006, Annex VII Column II the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups associated to oxidisign propeties

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the definition set out in the CLP Regulation (EC 1272/2008), an explosive substance or mixture is a solid or liquid substance or mixture of substances which is in itself capable by chemical reaction of producing gas at such a temperature and pressure and at such a speed as to cause damage to the surroundings. Pyrotechnic substances are included even when they do not evolve gases.

The test item is not classified because, according to exothermic decomposition energy and the onset of exothermic decomposition values,

it is incapable by chemical reaction of producing gas at such a temperature and pressure and at such a speed as to cause damage to the surroundings.
