Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Decomposition between 270 and 445 °C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
349.84 °C

Additional information

The Melting Point analysis was performed according to internationally accepted testing procedures, using the Differential Scanning Calorimetry method. Acid Brown 214  releases solvent between 127 and 198 °C, as shown on first endothermic peak, followed by decomposition of the product between 270 and 445 °C (onset at 292.9 °C, degradation enthalpy = 261.9 J/g).

An estimated value with Mpbpwin v.1.43* using the following smile has been reported to perform the risk assessment:

O=S(=O)(O[Na])c6ccc(/N=N/c4cc(/N=N/c1ccc(cc1)[N+]([O-])=O)c(O)c(/N=N/c3cc(cc2cc(cc(O)c23)S(=O)(=O)O[Na])S(=O)(=O)O[Na])c4O)c5ccccc56

* Mpbpwin is an application contained in the EpiSuite 4.1, the suite of physical/chemical property and environmental fate estimation programs developed by the EPA’s Office of Pollution Prevention Toxics and Syracuse Research Corporation (SRC).
