GENERATION OF TEST ATMOSPHERE / CHAMBER DESCRIPTION
- System of generating particulates/aerosols: The furan used in the study was generated for inhalation by passing air through pure furan at room temprature. The vapour, in concentrated form was then transferred using 100 cc siliconized glass syringe to a 5.2 litre sealed glass desiccator containing 3 or 4 mice.


TEST ATMOSPHERE
- Brief description of analytical method used: Air samples containing the test substance were drawn from into syringes and analyzed in a GC. A 0.2ul aliquot of the vapour in solvent was injected into a Chromosob W column. Peak area was the main method used in compound identification and concnetration of vapour.

Conclusions:
A very limited summary of a non-guideline, non-GLP study, recorded a 1-hour LC50 of 0.12 mg/l in small groups of mice exposed the furan vapour.
