Description of key information

According to column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulation, a test on water solubility (as required under point 7.7) is not required if the substance is not hydrolytically stable at pH 4, 7, and 9 (half life time below 12 h). The substance directly hydrolyses when coming into contact with water.
The water solubility of the hydrolysis product N-Butylpyridinium chloride is > 900 g/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Water solubility:
900 g/L
at the temperature of:
20 °C
