Description of key information
Two key studies and eight supporting studies showed that the nominal LC50 value is above 100 mg/L. In the both key studies (Danio rerio) a NOEC of 100 mg/L is reported. Four supporting studies were performed to assess the acute toxicity of the test item to Salmo gairdneri (Onchorhynchus mykiss). LC50 values from 125 to 200 mg/L nominal are reported. Four supporting studies were performed to assess the acute toxicity of the test item to Cyprinus carpio. LC50 values from 112 to 164 mg/l nominal are reported. In all supporting studies the died fishes showed a milky discoloration of the skin and pale red gills edges. These findings probably based on the high acidity of the substance and the low pH value.
