Description of key information

The PBT Profiler & EPI Suite has estimated that 5-nitrosalicylic acid is expected to be found predominantly in soil and its persistence estimate is based on its transformation in this medium. Its half-life in soil, 30 days.,does not exceeds the threshold (60 days) of being persistent in soil.Therefore, 5-nitrosalicylic acid is estimated not to be persistent in the soil environment.Though 5-nitrosalicylic acid shall diffuse to the extent of 76% in the soil medium, the ready bio-degradability will ensure that the chemical shall be non-persistent in the soil.
