Studies investigating the toxicity to soil macroorganisms of Fatty acids, soya, 2-ethylhexyl esters (CAS 93572-14-6) are not available. In accordance to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 Annex XI, 1.5 a read across to the structurally related substance isopropyl myristate (CAS No. 110-27-0) was conducted. The study conducted with isopropyl myristate (CAS No. 110-27-0) was performed as a limit test according to OECD guideline 207 under GLP conditions (Steber, 1999). The test organism Eisenia fetida was exposed to isopropyl myristate in artificial soil for 14 days, at a nominal test concentration of 20,000 mg/kg. No mortality occurred during the test period. Thus a LC50 > 20000 mg/kg dw based on mortality was reported.Based on the results derived for the read across substance Fatty acids, soya, 2-ethylhexyl esters (CAS 93572-14-6) is not expected to be toxic to soil macroorganisms.
