Description of key information

The no observed effect concentration (NOEC) value of 2-aminobenzenesulphonic acid in aquatic algae (Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata) in a 72 hrs study was estimated to be 0.3396714 mg/L.

Based on the studies summarized in the above table for the target substance 2-aminobenzenesulphonic acid and the read across substance, the endpoint value was found to vary between EC50 = 170 mg/l to 198.373mg/l and NOEC =0.3396714mg/L in a 96,72 and 48 hrs.; on the basis of Population and growth effect. Based on the above weight of evidence values, it is concluded that the test substance dose not qualifies for the aquatic toxicity.
