Additional information

Aquatic PNECs for hydrocarbons have been derived using the HC5 statistical extrapolation method and the target lipid model using representative structures. Given the large database of freshwater organisms included in the target lipid model, an assessment factor of one has been applied to the HC5.

Conclusion on classification

The substance is readily biodegradable. The most sensitive acute aquatic value is an EL50 of 0.66 mg/L (Daphnia, freshwater). A measured BCF values is available with 199 and the log Kow is 5.15 according to handbook data. Measured and estimated chronic values for all three trophic levels are in the range of 0.466-1.01 mg/L.

The substance is classified R50/53 according to DSD/DPD based on listing on Annex I and classified aquatic acute category 1 and aquatic chronic category 1 according to harmonised classification acc. to Annex VI (CLP).
