Description of key information

The bioaccumulation (BCF) of chlorocresol was found to be 52 . This value suggest that substance is not bioaccumulative in aquatic species as the value is much below the threshold value of >2000 to qualify the substance as bioaccumulative.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):
52

By applying weight of evidence approach to the target substance chlorocresol, the endpoint value of bioaccumulation was found to vary between BCF = 5.5 to 52 in aquatic organisms /fish. Thus it is concluded that the test substance chlorocresol is not expected to bioaccumulate in the food chain because it does not exceed the BCF criteria of >2000.
