Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

In accordance with REACH Chapter R.7A Endpoint Specific Guidance, specifically R.7.1.14.1 Information requirements on granulometry, the granulometry study does not need to be conducted as the substance is marketed or used in a granular form or a dedusted powder. The substance is isolated by spray drying into the composite microgranular form or the wet press cake is mixed with an agent which bounds the dust particles to prevent airborne material to form. As such, the particle size of the spray dried dye is not a function of the chemical but a function of the spray dryer used; a typical particle size distribution for reactive dyes isolated as low dust granules is as follows:

10 % < 123 µm; 25 % < 159 µm; 50 % < 207 µm; 75 % < 266 µm; 90 % < 326 µm.
