Disperse Red 086 is a red powder.

The substance melts at about 222 °C but a boiling point could not be detected since the compound started to decompose at ~313 °C. The flash point is waived owing to the thermic decomposition observed in the boiling point study. The density at 20 °C is 1.3882 gm/c³ with a calculated partition coefficient between n-octanol and aqueous phase (log Pow) of 1.98. The water solubility of the test substance is 3.26 mg/L at 20 °C. The surface tension of an aqueous solution at 20 °C is 73.1 mN/m at 0.25 % (w/w) solution. The auto-flammability of the test substance is 515 °C and therefore it is not highly flammable. The test substance is not explosive, has no oxidizing properties, and is thermally stable. Therefore, classification of the test substance is not needed according to the EU Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
