Description of key information

A 72-hour EC50 value of >3.6 mg/l and NOEC of 1.8 mg/l based on the measured CNE concentration have been determined for the effects of the test substance on growth rate of Pseudokirchnerella subcapitata. The test results are expressed relative to the concentration of the test substance; however, it is likely that the test organisms were exposed to a mixture of the test substance and its hydrolysis products, because the test is performed under static conditions. Therefore, it is more appropriate to use the EC50 and NOEC values expressed relative to nominal test concentration to develop the predicted no effect concentration (PNEC) in Section; the corresponding values are >120 mg/l and 60 mg/l, respectively.
