Toxicity to terrestrial plants

Administrative data

toxicity to terrestrial plants: short-term
Data waiving:
exposure considerations
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely
Justification for type of information:
Because Triglyme has predicted Koc of 1.9 L/kg sorption to sewage sludge is very low. Therefore transfer of Triglyme into agricultural soil via sludge amendment can be neglected. Also indirect exposure via deposition from air is very low because of rapid photodegradation of Triglyme in air. Based on this fact terrestrial ecotoxicity tests are not warranted. The statement given above fulfills the requirement for waiving as given in 1907/2006/EC Annex IX Column 2, 9.4: "The studies do not need to be conducted if direct and indirect exposureof the soil compartement is unlikely".
