Description of key information

Does not significantly accumulate in aquatic organisms.

Additional information

The bioaccumulative potential of CAS 41484-35-9 was assessed in a weight-of-evidence approach taking into account different QSAR calculations and further molecular parameters. It can be expected that the parent compound does not accumulate in organisms. The main metabolite (CAS 20170 -32 -5) was also assessed. Its calculated BCF was 13.2 L/kg. The prediction was conducted with the neutral molecule. As the compound has a pKa of 4.77 it is present mosly in its anionic form under environmental conditons. The logD ranges from 3.8 at pH 5 to 0.2 at pH 9 which is well below the B screening criterion of 4.5. Due to these results it can be assumed that the main metabolite CAS 20170 -32 -5 is not bioaccumulative either.

In conclusion, the results indicate that siginficant accumulation in aquatic organisms is not to be expected. Furthermore, the substance is clearly failing the B cut-off criterion for BCF of 2000.
