The Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R.7C: Endpoint specific guidance (May 2008), section R., Table R.7.11-2, page 131, specifies the information needed to waive the terrestrial studies based on soil hazard categories.

The substance is ready biodegradable and the log Pow is <3. Therefore, accumulation and persistence of the substance in soil and organisms is very unlikely. Based on these characteristics, the substance is not expected to cause adverse effects on terrestrial organisms. PNEC soil is derived using the equilibrium partitioning method, and since the risk characterization ratio is below 1, no futher testing is considered necessary.
