Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Based on read across to the corresponding substance with sodium as cationic part instead of potassium the surface tension was determined30.65 mN/m

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Surface tension:
30.65
in mN/m at 20°C and concentration in mg/L:
1 000

Additional information

In the Klimisch 1 key study (Holzschuh 2010) the surface tension was determined with the plate method according to EC A.5 and OECD 115. The surface tension of a 1g/L solution of Docusate Sodium was 30.65 +/- 0.1 mN·m-1.

The result is considered relevant and reliable for the further risk assessment.
