- Conclusions:
- Teh test item Alcohols, C18-22, distn. residues was considered as not highly flammable, as no ignition occurred within four minutes.
- Executive summary:
The flammability of Alcohols, C18 -22, distn. redsidues was tested according to EU-Method A.10 "Flammability (solids)", dated 31. May 2008.
It was tried to ignite the test item with the flame of the teclu burner; the test item started to melt. Ignition with self-propagation flame did not occur within two minutes. Heating was continued for a period of four minutes (total). Since ignition did not occur, the test item was classified as not highly flammable.
Reference
Screening test:
A stop watch was held ready. It was tried to ignite the test item with the flame of the teclu burner; the test item started to melt. Ignition with self-propagation flame did not occur within two minutes. Heating was continued for a period of four minutes (total). Since ignition did not occur, the test item was classified as not highly flammable, and no determination of burning rate was necessary.
Description of key information
It was tried to ignite the test item with the flame of a teclu burner; the test item started to melt. No ignition occurred within four minutes.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Flammability:
- non flammable
