Additional information

Two biodegradation studies are available for 2-amino-1,3-propanediol (APD), one ready biodegradability study and one study investigating inherent biodegradability. Based on the results of the first test, the substance can be considered readily biodegradable. High biodegradability was also seen in the test on inherent biodegradation. The substance is thus expected to be degraded by microorganisms in the environment as well, and simulation tests for water and sediment or soil biodegradation tests are not necessary.
