Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Ready biodegradability of Alcohols, C16-18 (even numbered) and C18 unsaturated, propoxylated, < 2.5 PO (CAS 70955-07-6) was investigated in two studies. The key study (Richterich, 2004) was conducted according to OECD guideline 301D and used domestic sewage. Based on O2 consumption, complete degradation of the test item was determined after 30 days. Hence, Alcohols, C16-18 (even numbered) and C18 unsaturated, propoxylated, < 2.5 PO (CAS 70955-07-6) can be classified as readily biodegradable under the strict OECD conditions.

The supporting study (Kronenberger-Schäfer, 2008) is in compliance with OECD guideline 311 and GLP and used anaerobic sludge as inoculum. After an incubation period of 62 days under anaerobic conditions, the test item reached 9% degradation based on CH4 and CO2 evolution.
