Justification for classification or non-classification

The test substance was not corrosive when evaluated for skin corrosion potential using the In Vitro International Corrositex® assay. However, information on related substances coupled with SAR information from the OECD Toolbox and the TIMES Skin irritation/corrosion model indicate that the test substance will most likely be irritating to the skin. The test substance was mildly irritating in an in vitro bovine corneal opacity and permeability assay (in vitro score of 10.9).  Therefore, the test substance should be classified as Cat 2 (H315: Causes skin irritation) and Cat 2 (H319: Causes serious eye irritation) according to EU Classification, Labelling, and Packaging of substances and Mixtures (CLP) Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008 and Xi; R36/38 (irritating to eyes and skin) according to EU Directive 67/548/EEC.
