Description of key information

Based on the data of BOD5 and COD determination the test substance FAT 40075 can be concluded to be not-biodegradable and stable in the environment. A hydrolytic stability test, performed on a similar substance FAT 40827/A as a function of pH in aqueous solution was performed according to OECD guideline 111 method C.7 (440/2008) concluded that the read across substance FAT 40827/A was found to be stable at pH 7.0 and 50 °C. Therefore, no further testing was performed at this pH-value. A read across approach was adapted to fill in the data for Hydrolysis. FAT 40827/A was not stable at pH 4.0 and at pH 9.0, further testing was performed at elevated temperatures in order to calculate the rate constant (k25) and the half-life time of the hydrolysis at pH 7.0 and pH 9.0 at 25 °C. FAT 40827/A at pH 4.0 has a half-life time of 206 hours (9 days) at 25 °C. FAT 40827/A is stable at pH 7.0. Its half-life time is longer than one year at 25 °C. FAT 40827/A at pH 9.0 has a half-life time of 867 hours (36 days) at 25 °C. Based on the data available for similar substance FAT 40827/A the target test substance FAT 40075 can be stated to be stable. Also the adsorption to soil and sludge was tested using the HPLC method on similar substance FAT 40827/A, the outcome indicates that the test substance FAT 40075 does not sorb strongly to soil and sludge and can be regarded as mobile.
