Description of key information

With high probability acutely not harmful to aquatic invertebrates

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The acute toxicity of Suberonitrile (CAS 629-40-3) was studied in a static limit test according to method OECD 202. The test item concentrations were analytically verified and were stable during the exposure period (±20% of nominal). Therefore the effect concentrations are based on the nominal values. No animals were immobilised during exposure. The 48-h EC50 was determined to be > 120 mg/L (nominal; measured: 48 -h EC50 > 124 mg/L; BASF SE, 2012; report no. 50E0385/11E122).

In conclusion, the substance is acutely not harmful to aquatic invertebrates with high probability.
