A combination of six compounds, including was given to male rats, presumably in the drinking-water, in order to study the effect on blood-tissue barrier permeability

Mixtures containing the maximum permissible concentration (MPC) or 1/3 MPC of each compound were given for 9 months. The MPC was stated to be 0·05 mg/liter. Following administration of ACTH and32P to the treated rats, significant disturbances in catalase activity and ascorbic acid content in the blood were demonstrated, as well as a decrease in the permeability of the blood-tissue barrier of the endocrine glands.
