The substance (0.5 g/kg, administered orally to rabbits) was excreted almost entirely (85%) in the urine as a conjugated glucuronide (Robinson, Smith & Williams, 1955).

In vivo studies in animals. In a study of the metabolism of cumene in rabbits, it was reported that cumene is metabolized to the substance , which is subsequently excreted in the urine as a conjugate of glucuronic acid

In a study comparing rates of metabolism of a series of alkyl benzenes by rabbit liver, locust fat body and fly abdomen homogenates, it was reported that rabbit liver metabolizes 2-phenyl-2-propanol at the rate of 0.17– 0.35 lmol/min/g of whole tissue
