Description of key information

Effects of POLYOL PX on mortality, growth and the reproductive potential of the earthworm species Eisenia fetida (Annelida, Lumbricidae) were determined according to OECD Guideline 222. The study was conducted according to GLP. The No Observed Effect Concentration (NOEC) of POLYOL PX summarizing the endpoints mortality, growth and reproduction of Eisenia fetida after eight weeks of exposure in artificial soil was determined to be ≥1280 mg test item/ soil dry weight

The effects of POLYOL PX on the metabolic activity of soil micro-organisms were determined according to OECD Guideline 216. The study was conducted according to GLP. The no-observed effect concentration (NOEC) was 316 mg POLYOL PX/kg soil dry weight.

The phytotoxicity of the test item Polyol PX to six terrestrial plant species was determined in a seedling emergence and seedling growth test according to OECD Guideline 208. The study was conducted according to GLP. The NOEC based on the most sensitive parameter (growth in terms of shoot fresh weight) was 125 mg/kg soil dw in the most sensitive species (lettuce).
