Description of key information

The log partition coefficient of polysulfide di-tert-nonyl is reported to be > 5.2

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

As the aqueous test samples do not show any peak at the relevant retention time, the measured concentration can be assumed to be lower than 2.0387 µg/mL (equal to a concentration of <0.2 µg/mL by taking the concentration factor into account). Using this value, the calculated log Pow is >5.2.

The key result is from Weissenfeld (2007) which is a GLP-compliant, slow stirring, octanol-water study with high performance liquid chromatography analytical monitoring, following OECD guideline 123. The study is considered reliable and suitable for use for this endpoint.
