Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Description of first aid measures

EYES: Irrigate copiously with clean, fresh water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation persists, seek medical advice.

SKIN: Wash immediately with plenty of water. Remove contaminated clothing. If irritation persists, seek medical attention. Wash

contaminated clothing before using them again.

INHALATION: Remove to open air. If breathing is irregular, seek medical advice.

INGESTION: Obtain immediate medical attention. Induce vomiting only if indicated by the doctor. Never give anything by mouth to an

unconscious person.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing media

SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA

The extinction equipment should be of the conventional kind: carbon dioxide, foam, powder and nebulised water.

EXTINGUISHING MEDIA WHICH SHALL NOT BE USED FOR SAFETY REASONS

None in particular.

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

HAZARDS CAUSED BY EXPOSURE IN THE EVENT OF FIRE

The product is not combustible. Do not breathe combustion products of other materials involved in the fire (carbon oxide, toxic pyrolysis

products, etc).

Advice for firefighters

GENERAL INFORMATION

Use jets of water to cool the containers to prevent product decomposition and the development of substances potentially hazardous for

health. Always wear full fire prevention gear. Collect extinguishing water to prevent it from draining into the sewer system. Dispose of

contaminated water used for extinction and the remains of the fire according to applicable regulations.

SPECIAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR FIRE-FIGHTERSHardhat with visor, fireproof clothing (fireproof jacket and trousers with straps

around arms, legs and waist), work gloves (fireproof, cut proof and dielectric), a depressurised mask with facemask covering the whole of

the operator’s face or a self-respirator (self-protector) in the event of large quantities of fume.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

Use breathing equipment if vapours or powders are released into the air.

Environmental precautions

The product must not penetrate the sewers, surface water, ground water and neighbouring areas.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Confine using earth or inert material. Collect as much material as possible and eliminate the rest using jets of water. Contaminated material

should be disposed of in compliance with the provisions set forth in the "disposal consideration" section.

Reference to other sections

Any information on personal protection and disposal is given in sections "Exposure controls/personal protection" and "disposal consideration".

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling

Product to be handled only by properly trained workers. Avoid contact. See also Section 8. Good local and general ventilation should be guaranteed in working areas. Do not eat or drink while handling and use.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

The product can freeze. Store above 5°C. Keep containers tightly closed in protected and adequately ventilated storage rooms.

Specific end use(s)

None

Exposure controls / personal protection

Control parameters

Information not available

Exposure controls

As the use of adequate technical equipment must always take priority over personal protective equipment, make sure that the workplace is well aired through effective local aspiration.

When choosing personal protective equipment, ask your chemical substance supplier for advice.

Personal protective equipment must be CE marked, showing that it complies with applicable standards.

Provide an emergency shower with face and eye wash station.

HAND PROTECTION

In the case of prolonged contact with the product, protect the hands with penetration-resistant work gloves (see standard EN 374).

Work glove material must be chosen according to the use process and the products that may form. Latex gloves may cause sensitivity reactions.

SKIN PROTECTION

Wear category I professional long-sleeved overalls and safety footwear (see Regulation 2016/425 and standard EN ISO 20344). Wash body with soap and water after removing protective clothing.

EYE PROTECTION

Wear airtight protective goggles (see standard EN 166).

RESPIRATORY PROTECTION

None required, unless indicated otherwise in the chemical risk assessment.

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURE CONTROLS

The emissions generated by manufacturing processes, including those generated by ventilation equipment, should be checked to ensure compliance with environmental standards.

Product residues must not be indiscriminately disposed of with waste water or by dumping in waterways.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity

There are no particular risks of reaction with other substances in normal conditions of use. If heated or brought into contact with hot bodies the product might release ammonia.

Chemical stability

The product is stable in normal conditions of use and storage.

Avoid exposure to: light, sources of heat, moisture.

Possibility of hazardous reactions

No hazardous reactions are foreseeable in normal conditions of use and storage.

Conditions to avoid

Alteration of the pH value might cause the product to precipitate.

Incompatible materials

Do not add alkaline substances (i.e. sodium hydroxide), the product might release ammonia. Avoid contact with aluminium and copper.

Hazardous decomposition products

In the event of thermal decomposition or fire, vapours potentially dangerous to health may be released.

Disposal considerations

Waste treatment methods

Reuse, when possible. Product residues should be considered special hazardous waste. The hazard level of waste containing this product

should be evaluated according to applicable regulations.

Disposal must be performed through an authorised waste management firm, in compliance with national and local regulations.

CONTAMINATED PACKAGING

Contaminated packaging must be recovered or disposed of in compliance with national waste management regulations.
