The test item showed a second endothermic signal in the temperature range of 200 – 250 °C. During the verification measurements with the photocell detection method it was observed, that at approx. 220 °C a first bubble starts to rise. At approx. 230 °C the frequency of bubbles rising increased. At 236.3 °C the boiling criterion with a frequency of 0.6 Hz was reached. The liquid remained colorless throughout the measurement.

For the correction of the boiling temperatures to standard pressure the test item was assigned to chemical group 8 (e.g. Ethanol; Propanol) According to appendix 7.2 a correction value φ = 6.4 was used for the temperature range from 230 °C to 240 °C. Therefore, the onset temperatures corrected to atmospheric pressure (1013 hPa) are 237.1 °C and 236.9 °C.

As the onset temperatures in the DSC measurements do not deviate by more than 0.5 K from their mean value of 237.0 °C, this temperature can be used as boiling point, which could be confirmed by the capillary method (236.3 °C).

No further thermal effects were observed up to the test end temperature of 500 °C.

Conclusions:
The boiling point of the test item was determined to be 237 °C.
Executive summary:

An experimental study was conducted according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 Method A.2. and OECD Test Guideline No. 103 using differential scanning calorimetry. For the verification of the DSC-measurements a further measurement with the photo cell detection method was performed. The test item showed a second endothermic signal in the temperature range of 200 - 250 °C. During the verification measurements with the photocell detection method it was observed, that at approx. 220 °C a first bubble starts to rise. Therefore, the onset temperatures of the DSC measurements are assigned to the boiling point. The mean boiling point corrected to atmospheric pressure (1013 hPa) is 237 °C.
