Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

- The pH analyses were determined using weighed aliquots of the test material dispersed in reagent water at a concentration of one percent (w/v).

- Sample weights were 1.0192 grams for the first test sample and 1.0100 grams for the second test sample. As expected, the test material did not appear to be very soluble in water.

- The pH readings stabilised for approximately five to six minutes.

- No water reactivity was observed.

- The pH results were 2.68 ± 0.08 (CV = 2.80 %) for sample one and 2.75 ± 0.04 (CV = 1.52 %) for sample two.

- The overall mean pH of 1 % w/v test solutions was 2.71 ± 0.07 (CV = 2.45 %).

- The test solution temperatures ranged from 22.3 to 22.6 °C throughout the testing.

- Table 5 (attached) displays the pH data for the study.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:

Executive summary:

GUIDELINE

The investigation was performed in accordance withU.S. Environmental Protection Agency (1996) Product Properties Test Guidelines, OPPTS 830.7000 "pH" and MT 75.3 "Determination of pH Values".

METHODS

The test specified in this protocol was designed to determine the pH of the test substance using the electrometric method. Two separate 1 % w/v test samples were each analysed in triplicate.

RESULTS

The pH results were 2.68 ± 0.08 (CV = 2.80 %) for sample one and 2.75 ± 0.04 (CV = 1.52 %) for sample two.

CONCLUSION

The overall mean pH of 1 % w/v test solutions was 2.71 ± 0.07 (CV = 2.45 %).
