Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

Endpoint:
boiling point
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid which melts above 300°C
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
The melting point of the substance was found to be above 600 °C in a DSC analysis and above 1000 °C in a DTA in nitrogen atmosphere. The substance undergoes oxidative decomposition in an air atmosphere at 840 °C. Therefore, measurement of a boiling point under reduced pressure is not necessary.
Cross-reference
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information

Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Remarks:
and Differential Thermo-Analysis (DTA)
Melting / freezing pt.:
> 600 °C
Decomposition:
yes
Decomp. temp.:
840 °C
Remarks on result:
other: No melting point in the temperature range 22 - 600 °C; Oxidative decomposition in an air atmosphere at 840 °C.

Results

DSC: Neither Tg (glass transition temperature) nor melting point was observed between 22 to 600 °C.

DTA: Neither endothermic nor exothermic peak was observed between 20 to 1000 °C in a nitrogen atmosphere. The peak due to oxidative decomposition was observed at 840 °C in an air atmosphere.

Conclusion

The test item has no melting point in the temperature range of 22 - 600 °C. Oxidative decomposition of the test item was occurred at 840 °C.

Conclusions:
No melting point observed in the temperature range 22-600 °C. The substance undergoes oxidative decomposition in an air atmosphere at 840 °C.
