Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Stability

Hydrolysis

A Hydrolysis study was performed according to (OECD 111 (2004) und die EU Method C.7(2008)). Less than 10 % of the test substance hydrolysed within 5 days at pH 4, pH 7 and pH 9 at 50 °C.

The test substance was determined to be stable to hydrolysis at each pH-value tested and no additional testing was required.

According to the guideline it is estimated that the half-life of the test substance in aqueous solution at 25 °C is greater than one year for pH 4, pH 7 and pH 9.

Biodegradation

Biodegradation in water: screening test

The ready biodegradability of the test substance was determined according to OECD 301 E (1992).

The test substance was degraded 11.2 % within 28 days of incubation. The test substance is considered to be non- biodegradable.

Biodegradation in water and sediment: simulation tests

In accordance with section 9.2 of Annex IX of the REACH regulation, the chemical safety assessment according to Annex I does not indicate the need to investigate further the effects on degradation of the substance. The chemical safety assessment as documented in the chemical safety report indicates that the test substance is not hazardous to the environment and the risks for the use of the test substance are controlled. A further refinement of the PECs with additional information on the degradation of the test substance and its degradation products in water and sediment is therefore not required (see further details in Chapter 13 "Justification for non-performance of the studies" (attached document and discussion)).

Biodegradation in soil

The adsorption coefficient Koc of the test substance is very low (1.16). The potential for adsorption to soil is negligible, therefore a biodegradation in soil test is considered to be not necessary.

Bioaccumulation

Bioaccumulation: aquatic/sediment

The study does not to be conducted because the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation based on log Know <= 3. The partition coefficient n-octanol/water is determined to be 1.67.

Transport and distribution

Adsorption/desorption

An adsorption/desorption Test was performed according to OECD 121. The mean adsorption coefficient log Koc of the test substance was determined to be 1.16 at pH 6.5.
