Additional information

The toxicity of target substance Nonanoic acid, esters with adipic acid and trimethylolpropane to aquatic algae was tested in a study following OECD guideline 201 (GLP). Green algae (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata) were exposed to water accommodated fractions (WAF) of the test substance with nominal loading rates of 0.97, 3.11, 9.54, 31.32 and 100.45 mg/L. The test substance concentration was verified by TOC analysis at test start and test termination after 72 hours. The measured TOC-concentrations in the test item treatments were < LOQ (0 h) and below the control blank-value (72 h). No increase of C-content could be measured in the test item treatments. Effects on algal growth were not observed. The reported NOELR (72 h) is ≥ 100.5 mg/L (nominal loading rate). An EL50 could not be calculated.
