Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Data on the acute toxicity of the target substance Nonanoic acid, esters with adipic acid and trimethylolpropane to aquatic invertebrates are not available. The assessment was therefore based on a study conducted with the analogue substance Fatty acids, C8-10, mixed esters with adipic acid and trimethylolpropane (CAS No. 95912-89-3) as part of a read across approach, which is in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex XI, 1.5. Further justification is given within the overall summary chapter 6.1 and within the analogue justification in IUCLID section 13.

The short-term toxicity of Fatty acids, C8-10, mixed esters with adipic acid and trimethylolpropane (CAS No. 95912-89-3) to aquatic invertebrates was tested according to OECD guideline 202. Daphnia magna were exposed to a nominal loading rate of 100 mg/L (WAF) for 48 hours. Detrimental effects were not observed. The determined EL50 (48 h) was > 100 mg/L nominal loading rate (WAF).

Based on the results of the read across substance (in accordance to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 Annex XI, 1.5) acute toxic effects of the target substance to fish are not expected.
