STABILITY AND STORAGE CONDITIONS OF TEST MATERIAL
- Storage condition of test material:
Ambient
Flash point:
> 130 °C
Atm. press.:
1 020 mBar
Remarks on result:
no flash point according to standard method

In the duplicate tests, no flash point was observed for the test item up to a temperature of 130°C, at which point the test was stopped.

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
Triglycerides, C16 and C18 (unsaturated) does not need to be classified as a 'flammable liquid' as the flash point of the substance was determined to be > 130°C.
Executive summary:

A study to determine the flash point of the test item, triglycerides, C16 and C18 (unsaturated), was conducted according to EC A.9 guideline using Setaflash apparatus. The test was conducted in duplicate.

No flash point was observed for the test item up to a temperature of 130°C, at which point the test was stopped. Based on the results of the study, the test item does not need to be classified as a ‘flammable liquid’ according to the CLP criteria.

The study was conducted according to standard guideline and is GLP-compliant and therefore is considered as reliable without restrictions.

Description of key information

Triglycerides, C16 and C18 (unsaturated) does not need to be classified as a 'flammable liquid' as the flash point of the substance was > 130°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A study to determine flash point of triglycerides, C16 and C18 (unsaturated) was conducted according to EC A.9 guideline using Setaflash apparatus (Dunning 2019).

No flash point was observed during the test up to a temperature of 130°C, at which point the test was stopped. Based on the results of the study, the test item does not need to be classified as ‘flammable liquid’ according to the CLP criteria.

The study is a GLP compliant, guideline experimental study and is fully acceptable for assessment of this endpoint.
