Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Reliable information from standard operating procedure; measurement according to company guideline
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Measurement according to company guideline
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Key result
Boiling pt.:
ca. 402 °C
Atm. press.:
ca. 1 013 hPa
Decomp. temp.:
> 450 °C

The melting point and the minor exothermic process can also be seen in this test (see 4.2 melting point). The endothermic peak with mean onset 402°C gives the best estimate for the boiling point. It is probably a combination of boiling and endothermic decomposition. The reaction mass decomposes before boiling at slower heating rates.

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Boiling point at 101 325 Pa:
402 °C

Additional information

the melting point and the minor exothermic process can also be seen in this test. the endothermic peak with mean onset temperature of 402°C gives the best estimate for the boiling point. It is probably a combination of boiling and endothermic composition. The reaction mass decomposes before boiling at slower heating rates.
