Description of key information

Explosiveness_EU Method A.14: no structural alerts

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

The prediction concerning explosiveness was performed using a procedure compatible with EU Method A.14 (Tremain, 2015a). The structure of the test substance was assessed for chemical groups that imply explosive properties. Since Benzenesulfonic acid, mono-C20-24 (even)-sec-alkyl derivs., para-, sodium salts (generic name: C20 -24 sodium sulfonate) possesses no structural alerts within its chemical structure, the result is negative. Thus, the substance is considered to be non explosive.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Benzenesulfonic acid, mono-C20-24 (even)-sec-alkyl derivs., para-, sodium salts (generic name: C20 -24 sodium sulfonate) possesses no chemical groups that imply explosive properties. Therefore, the substance is classified as non explosive in accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
