Description of key information

In a plant study (Wildlife International, 394471, 2015) the in-life phase of the test with T. aestivum, Z. mays, B. napus and L. esculentum was conducted according to OCSPP Number 850.4100: Seedling Emergence and Seedling Growth (2012). After 21 days the NOER was determined to be 62.5 g/ha. Due to the fact that the test substances was sprayed on the soil surface in the plant test and the endpoint in g/ha could not be transferred in mg/kg, the plant studies were considered as supporting information only.

Additional information

In a key study (Wildlife International, 394471, 2015) the in-life phase of the test with T. aestivum, Z. mays, B. napus and L. esculentum was conducted according to OCSPP Number 850.4100: Seedling Emergence and Seedling Growth (2012). The objective of the study was to determine the effect of the test substance on the seedling emergence and growth of ten species of plants. The experimental design consisted of seven test groups (a negative control, an adjuvant control and five treatment groups) for each test species. Test groups were replicated eight times, with a replicate consisting of a pot containing five planted seeds of one species. Seeds were impartially assigned to labeled growth pots on the day of test initiation. A single application of test solutions was made to the soil surface of planted pots in the designated test group. Spray mixtures were applied at a nominal spray volume of 200 liters of spray mixture per hectare (L/ha). Nominal test substance solution concentrations were 39.1, 78.1, 156, 313 and 625 ppm which corresponded to application rates of 7.81, 15.6, 31.3, 62.5 and 125 g/ha. Replicates of the negative control were sprayed with well water purified by reverse osmosis (RO water) and replicates of the adjuvant control were sprayed with a solution of 0.125% Induce in RO water. Following application, planted pots were placed on greenhouse tables according to a randomized complete block experimental design. Observations documenting seedling emergence were made on Days 7, 14 and 21 (days following application). Seedling height measurements and conditional assessments were made on Day 21. Shoot dry weight was determined from seedlings collected at test termination. After 21 days the NOER was determined to be 62.5 g/ha.

In addition in a supporting study (Wildlife International, 394470, 2015) was conducted according to OCSPP 850.4150 (2012). A foliar application of the test substance was made to evaluate plant survival, height, dry weight and plant condition of seedlings from ten terrestrial plant species. At 21 days following exposure, no significant, adverse, treatment-related effects were observed for any species. The NOER values for each endpoint for the ten species tested were determined to be 125 g/ha and greater than 125 g/ha, respectively. Additionally, the ER50 value for each endpoint for the ten species tested were determined to be greater than 125 g/ha.
