Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

For that endpoint, the registered substance exhibits a NOEC = 100 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
100 mg/L

Additional information

In the ready biodegradability study performed on the registered substance according to the OECD 301F guideline, a toxicity control has been realised (ibacon Project 112261163, see iuclid study record in section 5.2.1). In this toxicity control containing both, the test item and the reference item sodium benzoate, 29% biodegradation was noted within 14 days. Thus, the degradation was > 25% after 14 days. Therefore, it can be assumed that the test item is not inhibitory to the aerobic activated sludge microorganisms at a concentration of 100 mg/L.

Therefore, an ASRIT study is scientifically not necessary and a NOEC of 100 mg/L can be considered for the registered substance.
