Description of key information

The test substance was tested in in CO2 evolution test and showed 32.1% degradation on day 29.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

DNNSA is a structural analogue of CaDDNSA. Under the conditions of the OECD 301B test, di C8-C10, branched, C9 rich, alkylnaphthalene sulphonic acid (DNNSA) was not readily biodegradable. Degradation of DNNSA was 14-17% after 28 days.In a test for inherent biodegradation, no degradation of DNNSA was observed over the 56-day study period.

These results confirm the conclusion that CaDDNSA is not readily biodegradable.
