In the main tests, where the samples were heated up to 400 °C, bubbling started between 222-255 °C (mean value 246 °C, coefficient of variation 14.5, 95% confidence interval 12.2, n=8) . Due to the UVCB nature of the test material, bubbling was not continuously but occurred at intervals during the heating periods. The boiling point of the test material is given as the mean temperature above which the test material started showing boiling behaviour.

The test material was observed to darken from approximately 251 °C, indicating decomposition.
