Additional information

Acid Red 249:1 is a multiconstituent substance composed by the acidic and the sodium salt forms of the same structure (72.7 % and 14.95 % of the substance respectively). Relative density was determined by means of a pycnometer method as per recommendations of OECD 109 "Density of liquids and solids". Density was calculated from the difference in weight between the full and empty pycnometer and its volume. The test has been conducted on the sodium salt of the Acid Red 249:1. The relative density of the salt form at 20 °C is 1.538. Considering the great similarity of the molecules and the composition of the substance, the relative density of the multiconstituent substance is expected to be practically the same of the sodium salt (1.538 at 20 °C).
