Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The 3-h EC50 and EC10 valuer are both >900 mg/L (nominal) in activated sludge of a predominantly domestic sewage after correction for the percentage active ingredient in the tested substance.

Additional information

The toxicity of the substance to microorganisms was investigated in an activated sludge respiration inhibition study according to OECD guideline No 209 and in compliance with GLP criteria (BASF, draft report).

In this study activated sludge from a domestic sewage treatment plant was exposed to nominal test substance concentrations of 0 (control), 62.5, 125, 250, 500 and 1000 mg/L for 3 hours. Test concentrations were not analytically verified. The effects on microorganisms was determined by measuring total respiration rates and comparing these to an unexposed control. No inhibition of respiration rates was observed at any of the concentrations tested. Based on these findings, the 3 -h EC50 and EC10 values were both determined at >1000 mg/L. Based on a reported 90% active ingredient in the tested substance, these values are >900 mg/L.
