Conclusions:
The test item has no melting point at atmospheric pressure: The test substance showed only a softening and foaming beginning at 163°C and a discoloration (decomposition) beginning at 243°C.
Executive summary:

The melting point of acylglycinate GCK-12H -T (dry matter) was investigated in a study conducted according to EU Method A.1 (Melting / Freezing Temperature) and OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range). The determination of the melting point was carried out by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) according to guideline. In the three DSC-runs an endothermic effect in the temperature range of 40 -55°C and a second endothermic effect in a temperature range of 65 -100°C was observed. To clarify the results of the DSC measurements an additional measurement with the capillary method was performed. The test substance showed only a softening and foaming beginning at 163°C and a discoloration (decomposition) beginning at 243°C. Based on the capillary measurements, the test item has no melting point at atmospheric pressure.
