 The temperature was selected at the ZPA3 corresponding to an initial oven temperature of 200 °C. As the test item showed no ignition at 387.1 °C, a higher temperature was selected for the subsequent ignition trials corresponding to a new initial oven temperature of 400 °C. Using a constant heating rate, the subsequent ignition trials were conducted every 20 ± 5 K

 

Main Study

The requirements for repeatability of the DIN 51794 standard are stated as follows: Three lowest values of the main study have to lie within a range of 10 K (if auto ignition temperature is below 300 °C) respectively 20 K (if auto ignition temperature is above 300 °C).

The lowest value of the auto ignition temperature is 431 °C. This value was determined using 15 drops test item. The test item showed auto ignition after 11 seconds.

Conclusions:
The auto ignition temperature of SIKA Hardener LPP was determined to be 430 °C at 1013.25 hPa.
Executive summary:

A study was to determine the auto-ignition temperature of the test item according to Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 method A.15 and DIN 51794 Three independent determinations were conducted. The auto-ignition temperature was determined to be 430 °C in all three replicates. According to the criteria as laid down in DIN 51794 the auto ignition temperature is the lowest value of the three experiments, rounded down to a whole multiple of 5 °C. Therefore, the auto ignition temperature is stated as 430 °C. The three lowest values of the main study lay within a range of 20 K. No observations were made which might cause doubts concerning the validity of the study outcome. Thus, the validation criteria were fulfilled.
